My Review: Tangled by Emma Chase

Tangled (Tangled, #1)
From Goodreads:

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

                                                                  My Review:

I learned a new word today. Guffaw :  (noun)  meaning: hearty laugh.  Yes, I've been guffawing from page One  up to the last page of this book! It was so friggin funny!  And You can even catch me laughing in public ..alone ( while reading! ) Yes ! Maybe call me nuts?!  I totally love this book. It's like seeing the first ray of sunshine after rainy days that won't seem to end! ( After all depressing books?! ) Boy! I'm so glad!

Oh . How I love Drew Evans! And this is my first time to read from a purely male POV. Oh and it's soooo freaking good! And I love reading what goes inside his sexy ( and most of the time dirty ) mind!  Lol. Drew is your typical male..uhhhhmm.. I mean, your typical well-driven, gorgeous, incredibly sexy hot -hot kind of male.  You know ..the one who associates everything with sex? Like 24/7 ? Drew have no problem having a  girl "literally" on her knees for him at any given Saturday night. And forgets her after that! That simple!  Man whore. And Love is the word you can't find in his vocabulary. You get the picture?

“F@ck, yeah. That’s good. Yeah, like that . See that guy—black suit, devilishly handsome? Yeah, the guy getting the blow job from the luscious  redhead in the bathroom stall? That’s me. The real me. MBF. Me Before the Flu."

Well, that's the typical Drew... Before the flu!  ( And yes , I've been curious about this flu the entire time I'm reading this book! ) And When he first laid eyes on Kate. ..Viola! we have the poetic Drew!

“She’s magnificent—angelic—gorgeous. Pick a word, any f@cking word. The bottom line is, for a moment, I forget how to breathe.”

See the effect?! Well, that's only the beginning! But of course, Drew tried to hit on her and unleash his all-knowing power of seduction. And did he succeed? He is Drew-almighty-Evans?! But she is... engaged!! He did not even got the chance to get her name! This must have crushed his super inflated male ego big time!   Well then, after that he seem not to forget that girl who turn his advances down! And I think another first for him?! Well, karma is really a bitch! What happens next?

He found himself working with Kate ! Yes, on their company! Yes, his Dad hired the brilliant, MBA grad with honors Kate! Sounds like fate is on his side? But No! He does not...Never fool around anyone within his office, his second home! It's off limits! Does it have to include Kate too? When all his raging male , virile hormones are shouting all together for her?!  I even sense Drew's "pain"!  See my evil smile?! Haha. And adding to his pain.. Kate is really competitive and is really, really a good one! And Drew? Like a dog , he is territorial!

“Just like that, Kate Brooks has changed from a woman I couldn't wait to do the nasty dance with to someone I can’t wait to crush under my boot. My adversary. My competition. My enemy.”

Well, enemies? Can they stay long, that way? I have to say, the sabotages and a lot of snarks they made to each other was above par funny! And when they can no longer deny their attraction? Can you really stop an active volcano from exploding?!  They  give in! And my! It's so hot .. add up Drew's  all-knowing male remarks...I did not realized  making out can be both funny and hot at the same time! And word of caution: what they did inside that bedroom? No ..no... NOT for the kiddos!

But then, Drew ended up  screwing things between them... like being the asshole that he is! Now he has to pay the price! Being miserable ..tormented.. Unexplained feeling .. Weak.. Like catching a flu? Yes, but only this time no aspirin can cure!  He needs Kate!  He wants Kate! And for the first time in his male existence: He is Definitely So in love with Kate! But will Kate believe him? Will she accept him back?

Boy! Drew is someone who isn't giving up. And his series of attempt to get Kate back is over the top! Way ..way.. Over the top! I can't believe any normal guy would do that?! But Drew is not normal! Have I told you he is way desperate?  And desperate times .. needs desperate measures?! And it's freaking funny! My eyes were as wide as my open mouth while reading it! My reaction? What the hell?!  No freaking way ?! Along with a bout of full , unadulterated laughter!!! Nobody can "woo" a girl like our creative  Drew ! Think:   Endless flowers ? Three man mobile band?! Sky writing? A Nun?  Seriously? Yeah..way..way seriously!

I love the way Emma Chase wrote every single funny moments! It was so hilarious!! One of my fave scene is their Thanksgiving dinner.  This is also the first time I heard the word , "pussy whipped" .. What's pussy whipped ? ask by Drew's adorable four year old niece,  Mckenzie? And everything at the table explodes! The chain reactions are EPIC!  And the "Bad word" Jar?! Ingenuous?! My god! I can't even stop from laughing! Emma Chase , you are a genius!! That was GUFFAW fest ! Good thing, I did not pee on my pants!

I love the ending !  It was perfect!!!! And  guys, if you are desperate in winning your girl back... Here's a very important piece advice : watch "The Notebook" ... really absorb  it  by heart! ( scene by scene! word for word!)  It will NEVER fail you. Ever. Take it from Drew Evans!

And I got a  few songs  for Drew! :)
                                        * Happy Man by Chicago*
                                     *Sweetest Thing by U2*

                                      My Verdict:

5 swoony , fun-tastic, laugh till you drop kind of stars!
