My review : Awaken by Nina Lane

Awaken (Spiral of Bliss, #3)
From Goodreads:
“I love that you love me, professor.”

“I love loving you, beauty.”

Since their intense, passionate beginning, Professor Dean West and his wife Olivia have fought dark secrets and betrayal in order to save their marriage. Now reeling in the aftermath of a personal tragedy, Liv and Dean are driven further apart by a vindictive threat to Dean’s career.

Struggling to stand on her own for the first time in years, Liv is determined to defend her husband and prove herself. Then an unexpected letter dredges up old insecurities and endangers Liv’s newfound independence. As Dean fights for his professional life, he is forced to confront his worst fear when he discovers that he can’t protect his beloved wife from her own painful past.

                 My Thoughts:

If I can give 6 stars instead of  5 for this book, I definitely will! I loooooooooove the entire series! I gave 5 stars for both "Arouse" and "Allure", so it's only fitting if I gave a higher rating for the final book? I can't ...and won't stop singing my praises for the amazing Ms. Nina Lane!

It was rare to find a series that can maintain that "wow" factor up to the end.  I feel super lucky to discover Ms. Lane's wonderful work!

"Awaken" was  the perfect way to end this series. Though, I really don't want this series to end, EVER! I even read EXTRA slower this time...because...because I don't know how to deal with that serious book hangover ahead?! But, well, all good , perfect things are meant to end at some point of time... so, sigh. I know,I know... all I can do for now is to SIGH.

The road to marital bliss has never been easy for both Dean and Liv.  Bumps and obstacles were always along the way threatening the strength of their bond. With Dean's career and reputation  on the edge, and Liv's  Mom's sudden reappearance ,I was more afraid how both of them will handle it. Or if Dean ever allowed Liv to handle it herself?  I was left holding my breath most of the time!

Dean's fierce protectiveness to Liv was beyond astonishing! You  can call him alpha male, caveman or however you want it, but me?  I would simply call Dean, "the love of my life" ! *giggles*  Oh, and the things Professor Hottie can do?! Ooooh.. fangirling starts now! Dean... Dean West can make me shiver and  feel  a lot of things I haven't felt before?! Ahhhhhhhhh! Yes!!!!!!!!! That intense!! I  LUSTED ( eeep!! ) ....errr,  love every single moment with Professor Dean West on it! For those who already read the previous books, you know EXACTLY what I mean...

Dean:

" I'm at your feet forever , Olivia Rose" I whispered the instant before our lips met. "I'll move heaven and earth to give you whatever you want  , whatever you need. "

Me to Dean :
Move heaven and earth?! Well, Dean...

Dean:

"It's so easy to be with her, my lusty fairy ,my beautiful wife,. Wanting her is like breathing. Needing her was in my blood, And loving her will always be the beat of my heart. "

Me :
Lusty fairy?!! Oh. Em. Gee!!!

Dean:

" I want to grab her and shove her  up against the nearest wall.  Rip her clothes off and fuck her  until the earth trembles and the stars explode .Until the universe shatters ."

Me:
*stares at Dean  seductively*  Do. It. Now. Professor... shatter my universe! Hah!

Okay. Professor Dean West is just.... Y-U-M!  Point taken.

My once criteria for my ideal guy  was  as simple as "just a good guy" . ..but what happened after I finished reading the entire series? I was completely ruined! Yes! Now I want someone EXACTLY like Dean! And I HATE the feeling that  I know there will be NO Dean West out there. *sobs*  Dean..Dean..Dean... *sobs again and again*

I also love how Liv's character grew up.  The once afraid / shy Liv has finally blossomed into a fierce, strong willed woman . The once damsel in distress is now fighting beside her white knight. Liv and Dean together against anything in this world, nothing can ever defeat them. I loved that moment.

“We lift our left hands at the same time and place our palms together. Our wedding bands click softly as we entwine our fingers.
“You and me, professor.”
“You and me, beauty.

Overall, I really love where the story went... Pointing  to that  wonderful place ...a place both Dean and Liv  calls home...in each others arms.  Best ending ever! I got goosebumps ....then happy tears.

“My husband and I will always be two people living one life of perfect imperfection. We’ll always live here, in the place of Liv and Dean, where problems are solved and locks are opened”

            I'm giving this book:

            5 Bliss - filled stars!

My Review : The Wild Side by R. K. Lilley

The Wild Side (The Wild Side, #1)

Goodreads:
ARE YOU READY TO TAKE A WALK?

Alasdair Masters is in a rut.  He just hit forty, has been nearly celibate for the past year, and his life has turned into a daily sequence of lonely patterns that revolve around avoiding human contact.

His tidy life is turned on its head when a hot young blonde at the gym that’s been pseudo-stalking him decides to rock his world.  A very young blonde.  Way, way too young for him.  The problem is, he can’t seem to tell her no, and she just keeps coming back for more.

It doesn’t help that he’s ninety percent sure she’s a criminal, and still, he can’t seem to turn her down.  What is a dull introvert to do when a chaotic cyclone that oozes sexuality comes twisting into his life?

At first, he thinks she’ll give him a heart attack, but after his twenty-year marriage ended a year ago, he’s been a little lost, and when she comes crashing into his life, he realizes that he’s never felt more alive.

Is a walk on the wild side just what he needs to get his on track or a disaster in the making?  Is it possible for someone that much younger to be just what he needs, or is she a fortune hunter, as everyone keeps telling him?  Is it his hormones telling him that the mysterious younger woman is the one, or could it be more?

                     My Thoughts:

I can never look at the lowly butter ...cinnamon..and powdered sugar at  the same way again after reading this book. That kitchen scene would probably etch a permanent mark  on my mind ( and my wildest fantasy! ) for the rest of my life!

Those of you who read R. K. Lilley books would agree with me  when I say that her books are  "Hotness To Go" when  you need a "fix" . She can literally make  each page on fire. Me reading this book? I am on fire!

Forty  year old Alaisdair  Masters  almost boring , predictable life  was literally taken by storm when he met  this  young vixen named Iris. Then his life changed from dormant to REALLY active , lava -spilling ... raging volcano!  I can see why this old saying : "Life begins at forty"  was true up to the last word! For a forty year old, Alaisair was... Oh dearie...lordie .. unbelievably  ...insatiable?! Well, with Iris.. adventurous sexual prowess....Alaisdair was up for his ride on the wild side!

That wild side was beyond my wildest imagination!I admit I have a poor attention span ( a.k.a. easily get bored? ) but this book?  My full attention was locked in , the whole time. A total page turner!

I love how this book made me ask a lot of questions, like who's  Iris?  Why  Alaisdair?  It seems that she was harboring a LOT of secrets?  And just like that, the high and mighty Cliffhanger! Arrgh! Not fair! Will patiently wait for the next big one!

            I'm giving this book:
            4 Hot ..Hot.. Hot.. stars!

Blog Tour : Perfect Kind of Trouble by Chelsea Fine

I was over the moon excited when I was offered to read and review this wonderful book! To think that it's from no other than the wonderful , amazing  author, Ms. Chelsea Fine is beyond...Beyond!( Yes! I'm her  HUGE fan! )And to be part of her blog tour, such an honor!

Perfect Kind of Trouble (Finding Fate, #2)
Synopsis:
Sometimes when perfect falls apart, a little trouble fixes everything . . .

Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Turner has lost everything. After spending most of her life taking care of her ailing mother, she just wants to spot a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So when her late father-a man she barely knew-leaves her an inheritance, she finally breathes a sigh of relief . . . until she learns the inheritance comes with strings. Strings in the form of handsome playboy Daren Ackwood, her father's protégé. To see any of her inheritance, she's forced to team up with him. From his expensive car to those sexy dimples, Kayla's seen his type before. But Daren isn't who he seems to be . . .

Struggling to make amends for his family's mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. He's beyond grateful that James Turner included him in his will, but working with Turner's princess of a daughter to fulfill his cryptic last wish is making Daren wonder if being broke is really so bad. Still, she's just as beautiful as she is stubborn, and the more time he spends with Kayla, the less it feels right being without her. Soon Daren and Kayla begin to wonder if maybe the best gift Kayla's dad could have left them . . . was each other.

                       My Thoughts:

So, before I start to do the thing I loved most .....which is ... EXTREME FANGIRLING? ( Hah!) I will try to tone it down ( I am trying!!! ) and do a proper review without doing something related to this?

     Or like this?
Can I really restrain myself?  Nah! Either way, those things  will surely happen along the way... so be forewarned!

I just looooooooooove  the way this  book was written! This is the story that I've been daydreaming all along. Pretty girl Kayla Turner  meets Pretty boy Daren Ackland ...in the most compromising situation? Yes, that "situation" happens to include real handcuffs! Now...now... before you start thinking kinky? Which I can't blame you? ...because Daren...Daren , my gosh! Daren "the Woman whisperer" will make you want to handcuff yourself with after you finished reading this!

So , how did that handcuff ended up between Kayla ( the "prodigal daughter" ) and Daren ( the "spoiled rich kid) ?  Kayla's Dad left a will , clearly stipulating  that  in order to have the inheritance , they  should be handcuffed and go after it. Here's the catch: it's not as simple as that, it's a scavenger's hunt! I think it was the craziest idea for a will?!But nothing is crazy or impossible for both Kayla and Daren since they are desperately broke! Let the scavenger hunt begin!

Nothing is more exciting to see these two being stuck together. Yes, there is attraction ( oozing! ) but then there is also distrust? What could be Kayla's motive showing up all of a sudden after shutting off her Dad from her life? And how come  Kayla's  Dad trusted Daren to include him on his will? Take all of this , plus the preconceived notions they had?  But as they go along this hunt , never have they been prepared for a beautiful surprise that will change everything they believed to be.

Oh, I just love all the little notes Old Turner wrote as Daren and Kayla goes after the trail of clues. Those were pure nuggets of wisdom specially about life itself. My heart swells with this "feel good emotion" because Old Turner definitely knows the truth about what matters most. I also love the places he tried to hid out this clues.  Old Turner was a genius! And Daren and Kayla? Darn entertaining! I giggled and chuckled a lot during their little adventure! Sure it was uncomfortable with those handcuffs? But darn! those "sexy "tensions" they had  with those handcuffs?!! Priceless!!love, love it!!! Oh! And don't forget the kisses!! The way Ms. Fine wrote those? It felt real!! It's like...Daren kissing me?! Ahhhhhh!!!  I would love to trade places with Kayla!! ( Like, right NOW! )

Speaking of "sexy"... Well, hellllllooooo!! I did not realized until now , that it could be that HOT without even doing "the deed"?! Yes, ladies, I admit , the things this" woman whisperer / kiss bandit"  also known as Daren can do? Can totally make me feel "ticklish" in all places I dare not say! *blushing hard*  You can just imagine the "actual deed"?!!  I'd be like, on fire!! Ms. Fine can CLEARLY and amazingly write  a very.... uhhhm, stimulating "scene" ! Yeee-haw!

“You’re so obsessed with us not being strangers,” she says, and her eyes shine. “That can’t be healthy.”
I probably shouldn’t kiss her. We have an inheritance to claim tomorrow. We have shit to follow through with. Kissing her is a bad idea. A very bad idea.
“No. Probably not.” I step closer so we’re only inches apart. “But I can’t seem to let it go.”
She doesn’t move away. She doesn’t break eye contact.
Yes. She’d definitely let me kiss her. I’m sure of it.
My heart pounds and it’s all I can do to keep my nonchalant demeanor in place.
“Is that what we are, Kayla?” I lower my voice with a crooked grin. “Strangers?”
She meets my crooked grin and raises me a tipped chin. Her eyes are steel and sure, not giving anything away, and I suddenly feel unsure.
I lean in.
She doesn’t react. But she also doesn’t back away.
Kissing her is a bad idea.

Her lips part, ever so slightly, a thin seam of wet flesh forming between the soft skin of her pretty lips, and all my reservations vanish.

Overall, I ABSOLUTELY loved everything about this book! The ending is just PERFECT. For the hopeless romantics  out there, you're up for a real treat!   This one's for you!  Go grab your copies or you might be lucky to have yours for free by joining the giveaway found below.
