My review: Finale ( Hush, Hush #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Finale (Hush, Hush, #4)
  From Goodreads:
Nora and Patch thought their troubles were behind them. Hank is gone and they should be able to put his ugly vendetta to rest. But in Hank's absence, Nora has become the unwitting head of the Nephilim and must finish what Hank began. Which ultimately means destroying the fallen angels - destroying Patch.

Nora will never let that happen, so she and Patch make a plan: lead everyone to believe they have broken up, and work the system from the inside. Nora will convince the Nephilim that they are making a mistake in fighting the fallen angels, and Patch will find out everything he can from the opposing side. They will end this war before it can even begin.

But the best-laid plans often go awry. Nora is put through the paces in her new role and finds herself drawn to an addictive power she never anticipated.

As the battle lines are drawn, Nora and Patch must confront the differences that have always been between them and either choose to ignore them or let them destroy the love they have always fought for.

                  My thoughts:

I've been intentionally delaying  myself  from reading this book. Why? Well, the fact, that this is the final book from Hush , Hush series...that I happen to loooooooove?! I am experiencing this thing called "separation anxiety"...over MY , fallen angel boyfriend, Patch?!  Yes! You read it right! MY fallen angel boyfriend, PATCH!  ( Oh , How I wish! I am fictional! hah! )

Okay, reality bites. As all good things come to an end somehow.. I decided to be brave ...lift my fingers and read on! Soooo this is it!

Nora ..Nora Grey, I thought I'll love you at last? But still so annoying!  And so.. so... gullible ! She always put herself in grave danger ?! She's quick to react ( without even thinking twice?! )  and thus, making not so good decisions...resulting to a big time mess.  She is lucky have Patch always been there ?! For a  lot of damage control? And now she is the leader of the Nephilim ?!  What could be worse than that???  Oh. The fact she have to lead a rebellion against the Fallen angels??? She was dating Patch, a fallen angel, right?  Talking about the greatest irony, ever! Arrrgh!  I can't believe that I still read the entire series when in fact it was all about her??? My only reason, why I persevered? P-A-T-C-H.. Patch, Patch and more Patch!

If I can express it through GIF's : This is me when Patch's name is  mentioned :
And this is me whenever Nora appears :
Yes ! That extreme?! Teehee!  So, moving on  before my fangirling will take over my whole review!

I love how the story goes on. It was non stop action and adventure like the previous books which I looove! There's never a dull moment here. My heart never rest even a bit. I was holding my breath most of the time. With all the twists and turns... I'm afraid , if I blink...something huge will be revealed...making me really paranoid most of the time!

Who's the enemy ? who's the traitor? Whom to trust?  So many questions ...and I fear for Nora ...and most specially I fear for Patch. This war is bigger than what they can even imagine. Before it's the Nephilims and the Fallen Angels? Now there are Archangels too? Then, devil craft and something about the Fallen's feathers?! Yes! Information overload!!! My poor brain was desperate to keep up!

Of course, there are fighting.. a lot , lot of fight scenes! And Nora?! You, Nora just gave me the biggest scare of my life!!  That's a very brave thing to do! ( The only time, I loved her! )

Patch? You..you....you just made me cry ( happy tears?! )...and sigh... I love, love you till the very end.

Overall, I love this book ...and the entire series. I feel sad that this ends here, I come  to love the characters... most specially PATCH! Gah! I'm going to miss you. Really. *sobs*

I'm giving this book:
4 gimme some more Patch stars!

My Review: Stolen Songbird by Danielle L. Jensen

Stolen Songbird (The Malediction Trilogy, #1)
From Goodreads:
For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined.

Cécile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity.

But something unexpected happens while she’s waiting – she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods – part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader.

                            My Thoughts:

This book...this book ..this book asgdjdjfkcncudndmyebdavj!!! Yes! I was lost for words! It's been a long time since I have a major book hangover over a book, a fantasy YA book to be exact.

I was more than grateful when my friends Rachmi and Melly invited me into buddy reading this book. I tell you, this one's a gem! It was un-put-downable ... once I started flipping the pages, I felt the thrill, magic and adventure that were all compressed into written words. It was amazing how the author put everything together! It was everything I wanted and more.

I love the characters! Specially the heroine , Cecile ! I admired how she was tranformed from a scared sixteen year old farm girl into a strong willed brave princess of Trollus. Well, who won't be scared when you are kidnapped, sold and forced to be married to a Troll Prince?! From the stories I read, Trolls are described as hideous , evil , ugly looking creatures.. well, at least some of them. But Prince Tristan?! Hideous? Nope. Evil? Hmmm, he got issues but definitely not evil! Ugly looking creature? Noooo way! He is what our ( or mine for this matter!) prince charming should look like! Like this, perhaps?!  *swoon*

....and he "disliked" Cecile  "The human?!" ( so, it seems?!) But why marry her? Because of this prophecy :

“Eyes of blue and hair of fire
Are the keys to your desire.
Angel’s voice and will of steel
Shall force the dark witch to kneel.
Death to bind and bind to break
Sun and moon for all our sake.
Prince of night, daughter of day,
Bound as one the witch they’ll slay.
Same hour they their first breath drew,
On her last, the witch will rue.
Join the two named in this verse
And see the end of the curse.”

So there. The fate of Trollus . The lifting of the witch curse depends on their bonding. Maybe. If it was true. But what if it does not? Cecile must still stay as Tristan's wife and a prisoner. Escape would be futile unless you want to end up inside the hideous monster slaug's  stomach?!

Poor Cecile must have to endure being locked up or being constantly on the watch-list ?! Because the bonding makes her and Tristan one. That makes her Tristan's weak spot...and makes her the target of Tristan's enemies?

Left no choice but to stay than flee. Cecile begun to get to know Trollus and gain few friends and possible allies...and enemies?  Soon she learned the history and the complicated Politics around the full blooded and half blood Trolls. She also witnessed the cruelty , oppression  and the unfair set of laws around Trollus...which lead to a brewing rebellion against the King!

I love how the author created Trollus... Specially the Tree! It was magical and its stability powered by Tristan's magic was the only thing that holds Trollus from getting crushed!  I even tried to imagine it looking somewhat like as amazing as this!

I know, it's a great  responsibility for our Prince!  To protect both  his people... his kind, and same time earn the trust of the slaves to help him pursue his carefully laid plans... Until Cecile.. And that's when everything gets interesting!

Being the hopeless romantic that Me ... I was giddy with anticipation with Tristan-Cecile moments! Yes, they fought..a lot of snarks, which I find rather entertaining! But I know deep beneath ...something ..something is blossoming!  *swoon*  It's only a matter of time before these two finally spill it out! And when that moment came? In the midst of danger & desperation , I was teary eyed!  I would WANT them to be together! But not everything is as simple as that. Cecile must choose and Tristan was left with no choice.  Arrrgh!

“To hell with duty. I came for you – I came because I was afraid you weren’t going to make it. I came because I couldn’t stand the thought of something happening to you.”

The ending nearly killed me! I was not even breathing?! My heart was pounding so hard and all I can mutter was ..Nooooooooooooo!!!  That letter from Tristan, broke my heart into pieces and left me with a book hangover I am afraid I can't recover!

“And if I had the choice, I never would. I love you, Cécile. I will love you until the day I take my last breath and that is the truth.” He kissed me hard. “Forgive me.”

Overall, I fell in love with this book !  I am so desperate to read the sequel! But to wait till Spring 2015? Ms.Danielle Jensen, I beg you ....make the days move quickly!

I am giving this book :

5 love it, love it, Ahhhmazing stars!

My Review : Masked Innocence by Alessandra Torre

Masked Innocence (Innocence, #2) ***ARC provided by Harlequin through Netgalley  for an honest review***

Synopsis:
The man was sinful. It wasn't just the looks that made him dangerous, it was the cocky confidence that dominated every move, every touch. And the frustrating yet ecstatic fact about the whole package was that he could back it all up…

Julia Campbell never knows what to expect with win-at-all-costs Brad De Luca. And she's starting to like it that way. She gave up safe, conventional relationships when she let the elite divorce attorney seduce her into his world. Now that he's determined to strip her naked of every inhibition, she's in danger of falling too deep and too fast.

But their affair begins to feel even more dangerous when a murder leaves a trail of suspicion that points straight to the mob…and Brad. Trusting a man with a bad reputation and a past full of secrets seems like a mistake. But when she's forced to make a choice, the consequences will take her further than she could ever have imagined.

                         My Thoughts:

I have a confession to make. I read this sequel without reading  the  first book!  Yes, how could I???  With  Alessandra Torre's name in it, I did not even blink or think twice , I just go dive and grab it! Oh, just to make myself in tune with this book, of course I did my homework.... well, more of a crash course of book one! I search and read reviews with spoilers! Yes! I have no idea that spoilers can be such a big help! haha. So, I kinda like read  Blindfolded Innocence in a zap!

I read her previous book Sex Love Repeat and I loved it! I'm not really into the erotic genre ( says.. NOT me?! Haha! )... but the way she wrote it? Well written and never crude and too much! There's always something left  to imagine. And when I imagine?! That's the interesting part!

Brad De Luca is temptation personified.  He is a walking "turn on"! One  you can't say NO to ..and more of a YES ! YES! YES! when you.... reach that BIG  O!  Whoooopsie!  Am I allowed to say such thing?!  After reading  Ms. Torre's book, I can...and I will! Haha!

With that face...with that body...the oozing charm... the whole package?! I closed my eyes and try to imagine....Brad! Just delicious!  Whooopsie!!  Ahhhhhhhhh ( fangirling in a totally smutzy way! Haha!) ...now I can totally understand Julia! I get you girl, you simply can't get enough of that man! Damn! I would love to trade places with you ....like, right now!

When Julia and Brad decided to give this "relationship thing"  a try... It was all primal....va---vavooom! Sexually charged ...and quite unconventional? Well, nothing is ordinary with Brad's uhm, appetite?! Imagine, threesomes...or more?! The masked parties? Think theme playrooms... My oh my! Am I prepared for this??  .....the masked party?! Whoa! Wow! One word: Liberating!

Was Julia ready for this?  Can she fit into Brad's world?  Apparently , she could! When she had her taste... she accepted it...and more willing to explore and even stretch her limits. Brad touch awakened her and heighten all the... uhhhhmm, pleasure points of her body ! And in that department, I can say, Brad De Luca  is a master of his own!

" ..Then, in the soft sheets and morning light, I had my seventh, eight and ninth orgasm in twelve hours."

Take note :  Nine ( 9) freaking orgasms?!!!!!  holly molly freak in the sheets!!!

"...I rolled , I bent, and I was conquered, six times in all! It was a long and lengthy session of firm hands, soft kisses and positions I had never even dreamed off. "

First, NINE "O"'s .... then SIX conquering , mind blowing ....and these words : LONG. LENGTHY. FIRM HANDS. SOFT KISSES. POSITIONS????! Ohmygwad!  Brad, you are so in my inappropriate thoughts right now!  Tee-hee. Whoopsie!

See??? That's how "engaging" Ms. Torre's characters were! Haha!  I read a lot of steamy scenes but I find something really good on how she wrote it. It has passion, deep, intense connection between the characters and not just mindless sex.

I love how the story progresses. Specially at the middle part! There's danger. Someone's after Julia's life. A powerful Mob....that's somehow been linked to Brad himself?! Is Brad really the man she thinks he was?

As the truth begun to set in, Julia has to make a decision . To hand in her total trust ....and total surrender to the one person that could both destroy and save her? Does she have a choice?

It was an intense moment. I had  mixed emotions over how Julia took it...but mostly scared of what might happened next. And that NEXT? ...was cut by the author's acknowledgment?! Yes, that was the ending! Arrgh!

Overall, it was a wonderful read as expected from Ms. Torre! Never been disappointed ( except for that cliffy ending!  *groans!* ) Looking forward for the next book.... quick!

I'm giving this book 4 Yummy & hot as Brad stars!
