My Review: Prince of Wolves by Quinn Loftis

Prince of Wolves (The Grey Wolves, #1)
From Goodreads:

Jacque Pierce was just an ordinary 17-year-old girl getting ready to start her senior year in high school in Coldspring, Texas. When a mysterious foreign exchange student from Romania moves in across the street, Jacque and her two best friends, Sally and Jen, don't realize the last two weeks of their summer are going to get a lot more interesting.

From the moment Jacque sets eyes on Fane she feels an instant connection, a pull like a moth to a flame. Little does she know that the flame she is drawn to is actually a Canis lupis, werewolf, and she just happens to be his mate; the other half of his soul.

The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas.

Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. Will the love Fane has for Jacque be enough to give him the strength to defeat his enemy, will Jacque accept that she is Fane's mate and complete the bond between them?

                                  My thoughts:

I'm so glad I read this book! I not really into this wolf -thing.. I mean Jacob Black from Twilight is fine uhmmm.. now his abs  are totally flashing on my head! LOL. ... but Fane Lupin? Is really... really one hot kind of a wolf in the cutest sense! And this is how Jacque and her adorable , funny friends  Jen and Sally describe him :

“When you say gorgeous,” Jen started, “are we talking Brad Pitt boyish good looks, or Johnny Depp make ya want to slap somebody?”
“No, we’re talking Brad and Johnny need to bow down and recognize,” Jacque answered”

See?! What an apt description! Fane clearly spells DROOL WORTHY!!!

The story started when a foreign .. I mean a hottie foreign exchange student from Romania moved to Jacque's neighborhood. Jacque is a typical seventeen year old.. or as she thinks so. She loves spending her time with her bff's  in their little over 700 populace town. Her ordinary life becomes interestingly strange when she begun hearing voices in her head ...and that voice belongs to Fane Lupin! The hottie next door who happens to be the Prince of Grey Wolves! AND... here comes a Shocker : Fane found his Luna.. his mate... and she is , no other than the clueless Jacque!  well, who wouldn't be shocked?! It's not in Jacque's  normal days that she  found out that werewolves exist... and a gorgeous wolf prince is woo-ing her?!  Yes woo-ing! Seriously wooing  her like in the royalty kind of manner ?! A.k.a court her! And ladies, prepare to swoon!!!

Yes! Fane's oh-so-gentlemanly sexy ways plus Jacque's funny sarcastic mouth is a perfect combination! And they look so good together! Here is how I picture Fane and Jacque :

I love how Fane calls her his Luna! I'm really big on this nicknames thing! ( I am over romantic in a freakish way?! LOL. ) The way Fane says it.. like I can hear it ... maybe in my thoughts?! Oh my gawd?! Did I just heard Fane's sexy, wolfish voice in my head?! I wish! Oh-uh. I super envy Jacque for having this somekind of mental telepathy with Fane. Imagine having that? Who needs smartphones?! Haha.

“I am so honored to finally meet you, my Luna,” he told her. “We have much to learn about each other.”

And this just one of the things she shares with Fane... strange , intricate markings like body art / tattoo starts appearing  in their bodies...in a matched, complementary way?! It's like getting a matched tattoo with your loves minus having to go through the painful needleworks?! How cool is that??? I love it when Fane's got this mutt-jealous when his mate's markings are exposed  to any wolf in the area? Which apparently, Fane is not so alone  who is after Jacque! Some furry creature who happens to share his territory! There is Lucas another grey wolf who is also claiming Jacque as his own mate! What the ??? Who would think Jacque's one most desired, sought after female in the whole....wolves uhmm mutty world?!!  So, how do wolves deal with this? Yes, through a challenge! Like a duel and of course they have to fight to death to claim Jacque!  I have to hold my breath the entire duel!

I love the ending... and again, like most of the wonderful books I read, Prince of Wolves promises  a very good sequel! I can't wait to find out what's in store for both Fane and Jacque!

“I love you, Jacquelyn Pierce, my mate, my love, meu inimă (my heart). I want you to be all mine, with no way for anyone to challenge me.”

If you are looking for a funny, highly entertaining and swoony read... this book is perfect for you! I really enjoyed every single page. Never a dull moment for me... with Fane all adorable in both his wolf and human form?! I can't help but to have this wolfish grin during and after reading this book!

My Review: The Chocolate Touch by Laura Florand

The Chocolate Touch

From Goodreads:

Dominique Richard's reputation says it all--wild past, wilder flavors, black leather and smoldering heat. Jaime Corey is hardly the first woman to be drawn to all that dark, delicious danger. Sitting in Dom's opulent chocolaterie in Paris day after day, she lets his decadent creations restore her weary body and spirit, understanding that the man himself is entirely beyond her grasp.

Until he touches her. . .

Chocolate, Dominique understands--from the biting tang of lime-caramel to the most complex infusions of jasmine, lemon-thyme, and cayenne. But this shy, freckled American who sits alone in his salon, quietly sampling his exquisite confections as if she can't get enough of them--enough of him--is something else. She has secrets too, he can tell. Of course if she really knew him, she would run.

Yet once you have spotted your heart's true craving, simply looking is no longer enough. . .

***E-Arc was provided by Netgalley for an honest review.***

                                  My thoughts:

Paris..Eiffel Tower..Louvre...french chocolates.... holding hands with a Sexy Chocolatier... Oh la la! What can be more romantic than that? Just  thinking about it... makes me sigh and wish I am French!

This book open up with all the delectable...decadent...mouth watering chocolates in full details that even while reading...I can't help but to wipe the drool from my mouth! Uh. Oh. And let me tell you the man behind this  ... Dominique Richards.  Two words : 1. délicieux (Yummy?!) 2. Smells and taste?! like chocolate.. therefore, Edible?!!   Whoa!!!! Haha.

Dominique or Dom Richards is one of the best Chocolatier in Paris. Like his chocolate creations, he is  mysterious..Rouge.. Dark...and every chocolate touched by his big , callous hands is simply perfection!  Jaime Corey  who happens to visit his shop was instantly drawn to his chocolates! As she sat there devouring  his chocolates  deliciously bit by bit.. Dominique can't help but to noticed this plain, freckled, thin , fragile woman. Getting a woman was never a problem  to him.. he can make any woman want him! But there is something about  this nameless woman that captivated him. He wants to feed her... take good care of her in ways he could not explain. He is tough brought by his hard childhood... he does not do.."LOVE". Which for me, is so ironic since...hello???? They're in Paris! The city of passion and love?! But then he felt something for this nameless woman. SOMETHING strong. And no matter how he try to show his hard exterior..deep inside he's going gooey , melting marshmallow-y for this woman! Marshmallow??? Awwwwwwwwwwwww! Swoon!!

Desperate to know her, Dom approached her and offered his delectable chocolate creations. How he loved to see her blush and nimble deliciously every bite. He was turned on even at this mere sight!  I love how this was described by Laura Florand...like a slow foreplay.. sexy without even taking off ones' clothes! But wait?? She has not even told him her name?! Who is this mystery girl?  Jaime Corey is the billionaire heiress whose family owns one of the biggest mass producers of chocolates in the US. Her sister who is also the CEO is engaged to Sylvain , a chocolatier and Dom's arch rival! Sooo, that somewhat explains the "I-won't-tell-you-my-full name?!" But then... There's more to it...

The chemistry between Dom and Jaime is obviously hotter than a mug of spicy hot chocolate! Never did Jaime experienced that kind of touch...that she is the most important person in the world..that Dom can't ever get enough of her...that he can't lose her.Such a strong emotion for a woman you don't fully know! ( I mean, halfway through the book and still no Last name???) Jaime is a woman doesn't care about her money... or being a Corey. She wan't to save the world!  That almost cost her life when she received the beatings ! I admire her for having a big heart ... but then her insecurities is sometimes annoying. And same thing with Dom?! He feels he is unworthy of Jaime! Ugh. Yes.. Annoying.. but I CAN'T STOP reading?! Ms. Laura Florand, you are so good!!!
Of course both of them have their own personal demons to deal with.  But I love how they resolved it at the end. When they both lay down their cards .. baring their souls... the words that they used...was beyond something I can't describe!  Like  Dom's greatest chocolate sculpture ...it was amazing!  I love the way they compromise. It was the sweetest!  And the ending.. has so much hope !

" You are the most amazing person I have ever met. I should probably be the one giving you the warning: I won't leave you. I'm still figuring out how to be strong again, but I've made up my mind about one thing : if you are not wiling to leave me, I'm more than happy to return the favor. "  ( Jaime)

My Review : Thirty Seconds to Die by S. G. Holster

Thirty Seconds to Die (Thirty Seconds to Die, #1) ***Thank you S.G. Holster for providing me a copy of this wonderful book! ****

                                  My Thoughts:

"The Inuit people believe that the (Northern ) lights are the souls on their way to a second life. Part of the myth is that the soul only has thirty seconds to die. If there's a  force strong enough, like enduring love, the soul will be drawn back to earth. Do you believe that could be true? ..."

I never heard about this myth until now..Thinking about the wonderful Aurora or the Northern lights , about souls finding each other...I think it's quite  romantic but giving me a little " goosebump-py" feeling. What if there's really somebody out there .. our soul mate desperately looking for us? But we don't even have a clue?

" If you reach up to the lights, some people - will see their soul mate, a lost love from a previous life-the one they are destined for, the one they come back for. Their souls will touch for the second time and they'll find each other in this life.. "

This was the first book I got without a blurb.  Looking at the cover and an interesting title "Thirty seconds to die" made me more intrigue than ever! As I browse through the pages , I was captivated! The idea of soul mates, reincarnation really fascinated me. Moreover , the main characters  Lexi and Ren are old souls that are bound for each other!

The story started with Lexi having frequent dreams about this boy  whose name is John. In this  dream, she was  Charlotte and  it always end up bad... leaving Lexi terrified and had caused sleepless nights.

Then,  she  met Ren. Ren reminds her of John. And the moment their eyes locked.. she felt the intense , magnetic pull that made her heart all aflutter!  Yes, Lexi was drawn to him! And so was Ren to her! Sounds like a cliche boy meets girl kind of story? Not at all. This was just the beginning!

As Lexi begun picking up the puzzles from her dream that was more like a vision of her past. The more she is falling intensely in love with the boy who used to haunt her dreams and now in front of her! There is something special and magical between them. But it looks like having the love they've been waiting for ( or at least for Ren! ) won't be that easy! Some evil forces are after them! A group of Sentori is bound to hunt and kill them!  Now, the real action and suspense starts! This got all my attention.. like I'm scared for them, specially for Lexi who is all confused how her almost normal life turned out to be a life threatening chase?! And like Lexi, I had all the questions on my mind! The Sentori are after them? Why? And what do they want? And one of the Sentori, Brett is really "crushing" on Lexi big time! ( Like I like you but I have to kill you?! Ugh! ) All of this, makes Lexi more confused than ever! And me like.... OKAAAAAAY??? but still don't get it??

Halfway and almost most part of the book became an long, tiring.. almost endless running and chasing! I actually found myself  getting jet lag?!  It's like watching the "Amazing Race" ( traveling to London, France, Switzerland Alaska?!) But only this time  their lives are at stake and danger is looming from anywhere and anytime. Ren can't take any chances to the extent of hiring tight security and everything in his power ..to protect Lexi. It makes me wonder how important Lexi is?

As Lexi begun picking up bits and bits of the puzzles.. and her visions are becoming clearer. The more overwhelmed she became. This isn't just about the unrequited love she and Ren shared in the past. This is something more.. and something big! She is the chosen one! The only one that could protect the souls. The only one who holds the key to the passage way. Now this became the battle of good and Evil... and Lexi is in a middle of a  crossfire! And she discovered something...the lies and the truth.. now she doubted Ren and even herself. Could she trust him? Can she bear losing  him? I love the way S.G. Holster maintains the suspense till the end!

The ending is heart breaking ! How can Lexi do that? I know her intentions are pure...but why??? This is too much to handle! I can hear my heart's irregularly beating! All I want is a happy ending?! But S.G.Holster is making it difficult for me.... Nooooooooo!!!!!  I am really rooting for Ren... I love you, Ren!! (You  and  your lovely brown eyes!!! ) I'm still hoping that there's still something in store for  them on the sequel. But until then, I'm going to nurse my bruised , broken heart...

My Review: Obsession by J L Armentrout

Obsession
From Goodreads:

He’s arrogant, domineering, and... To. Die. For.

Hunter is a ruthless killer. And the Department of Defense has him firmly in their grasp, which usually doesn't chafe too badly because he gets to kill bad guys. Most of the time he enjoys his job. That is, until he’s saddled with something he’s never had to do before: protect a human from his mortal enemy.

Serena Cross didn't believe her best friend when she claimed to have seen the son of a powerful senator turn into something... unnatural. Who would? But then she witnesses her friend’s murder at the hands of what can only be an alien, thrusting her into a world that will kill to protect their secret.

Hunter stirs Serena’s temper and her lust despite their differences. Soon he’s doing the unthinkable—breaking the rules he’s lived by, going against the government to keep Serena safe. But are the aliens and the government the biggest threats to Serena’s life… or is it Hunter?

                       My  thoughts:

Luxens  are  now the bad guys... errr, I mean, really bad aliens?!  This is a 360 degrees shift on what I believe! I read the Luxen Series, and Daemon Black is nothing like Senator Vanderson, a Luxen who is apparently a  power hungry Alien?!  I shook my head in disbelief. But then, this is something new... and something new is always good! I'm dying of curiosity here ... and well, just look at the cover?! If Arums are hot like Hunter... I'll definitely check him out! lol. ( and my fangirl radar is telling me , I found the right alien! ) And he is like my fave devil triple chocolate brownie... Indulgent. Illegal. Mouth-watering! ( Now , why I'm even talking about food?! )

When Serena witnessed  her friend being killed / burned / zapped to death by something inhuman, her life turned upside down. Now she knows we are not alone in this earth! That knowledge can get her killed!  And she knows something  that could compromise Luxens' existence ,moreover that the Luxen in question holds a high position in the government.  So, when Serena was attacked and almost got killed by a Luxen.... A sexy, smoldering, hot Arum came into the picture and rescued her! Holy smokes, hot chilies , hot tamales Hunter! I feel already  intoxicated and dizzy just looking at him! I can't even imagine what has been playing on Serena's mind when she saw these two aliens fighting over her?! Fascinated...?! Uhhh.. Nope! More like scared to death?!

So she ended up under the Department of Defense or the DOD's witness protection program. And who could better protect her from the powerful Luxens but an equally well equipped Arum? Ending up with her "baby sitter" Hunter was never easy for both of them. Hunter is a natural predator... and Serena is one distracting, inviting prey on his plate!  Remember, Arum feeds on both Luxen and humans!  I love love it when he tried feeding on Serena!  It's way sexy! Way sexier than a vampire sucking your blood! ( oh, how could that sound so wrong! Haha! ) And.. Hunter wants to uhmmm.. play with his food?! ...and he's way..way good! ( with his hands ...his mouth?! uh oh?! I forgot to tell you, this ones not for the kids! No..no.. Cover your eyes!! Hunter = Hot.. hot.. hot!!! Having Hunter around , Serena's gonna end up either on his plate or his bed?! Uh-oh. I won't complain either way! Haha.

I also love their verbal exchanges. So much snarks with JL Armentrout's  touch! It was really good! And I love Serena when she goes feisty and Hunter's uhmmm.. commanding presence! See the combination? When together, they simmer! When  they touch... they burn! Sizzle.. sizzle!!

When the action starts... Boy! It was like an action packed movie scene! I can almost imagine myself watching them fight! The blows, the kicks... everything is just WOW!!!  I'm clapping my hands for JLA!!!  Never a dull moment! I kept on guessing what will happen next!  One thing's sure , never mess with an Arum ... never ever touch what was his! Specially Serena... because Hunter will kill and take them down one by one!

I love the ending. It's not a cliffhanger but gave a me something to look forward to! I discovered something big! Clue: A conspiracy that will threaten  human existence. JL Armentrout did it again! Now, all I have to do is wait for the next great book to come!

My review : Forever Too Far by Abbi Glines

Forever Too Far (Too Far, #3)
From Goodreads:

Torn between his love for his family and his love for Blaire, Rush has to find a way to save one without losing the other. In the end one has to be more important. Letting go isn’t easy.

Blaire believed in her fairytale... but no one can live in a fantasy.

Her love for Rush and desire to have a family keep her believing that they can find a way for this to work. Until she has to make the right decision for her and the baby. Even if it breaks her heart.

Can they find the forever that they both want or has it all just gone... too far?

                       My thoughts:

I was so excited and thrilled when this book  finally came out! All I could think about is Rush Finlay! More yummy, RAWR effing Rush Finlay!  See? I'm kinda swearing ...  but in a good way! Haha!  I just miss effing Rush Finlay!!! ( There goes another eff word!  ) When I finally got a hold  of a copy.. I was like sweating and shaking with excitement! ( And dancing with glee!! )

First few pages , I drank at the sight of Rush! Gosh! I know I'm at the right moment when I heard all the sexy dirty talks! ( music to my ears! oh yeah! ) And I love it when he goes caveman ape shit protective for Blaire and his unborn son.  Gosh! I really wanted him to be my baby Dadddy!  Forgive me, I can't help but to unleash my fangirling when it comes to Rush! I love , love you Rush Finlay!!!

But of course , what's Blaire - Rush without the ever present family drama?! ( rolls eyes! ) And who can create havoc other than Nan a.k.a. Rush' spoiled  bratty half sister?! She is the epitome of Bitchiness! The moment she appeared in  the picture... I was like.. Uh oh.. Looks like hell broke  loose! And I can go on and on to describe my intense Hate for Nan! Oh yeah. I'm Nan-hater! She is so manipulative ( even threatening to end her life?! Phuleeeeshhh!)  and almost broke Rush and Blaire's relationship! It got me worried,  'ya know?! I was even holding my breath ... not until Nan was inside a mental facility! Psycho B@&ch!

I was also introduced to new characters like Harlow, Nan's half sister and Captain, Blaire's half brother. ( Yes, it looks like there are plenty of halves in here! ) I love how Abbi Glines create and interweave these new characters. I can feel that , I'll be seeing a lot of  them on Ms. Glines up coming books ... which I would love, love to read!  And I'm secretly rooting for  Grant-Harlow story! I can't help but smile thinking about the moment Grant laid eyes on Harlow! It was lust-love at first sight! Only that, Harlow does not reciprocate?! Uh-oh!  I bet theirs is as interesting as Rush - Blaire!

I love how the story turned out.  And their wedding? It was Swoon-fest overload!!! Like, Blaire I cried happy tears! Rush is uber romantic!!! I love the notes that goes along with the Something New, something Blue.. something borrowed... it was sooooooo sweet!!!!! When Blaire  finally walk on the aisle... Rush actually sang for her! Awwwwwwwwwwww! I am melting!  I need to find myself a Rush right now!

For me, this was the perfect ending!  To see Rush , Blaire.. and baby Nate Rush Finlay ( even his name sounds perfect! ) together as a happy family, made me  sigh ... daydream... and finally say, "Now there's the Happily ever after I've been waiting for!"

My Review : Because of Low by Abbi Glines

Because of Low (Sea Breeze, #2)
From Goodreads:

Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.
Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but he’s still under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice.

                              My thoughts:

What would you do if you just met the most amazing, irresistible girl .. only to found out that your douche bag , sleep around room mate  is going to marry her? Ouch. Major sucks. That happened to Marcus Brady when she met  the teary eyed, red head, beautiful girl  Willow outside his apartment. Oh how he wish she was just  his room mate , Cage sister! But not. Sigh. He knows Cage well, screwing different girls .. and someone who doesn't deserve the sweet Willow. Oh. Suddenly, our Marcus unleash his protective self! And he was drawn to her.

Meet Willow or Low , she may be innocent and sweet  but she is also tough and independent. So how did she ended up in Cage and Marcus apartment? In Cage's bedroom? Well, it seems that our poor Low here has nowhere to go. She has her irresponsible sister, Tawny who always ditches her. And Cage's the one who seen her go through this mess...and somehow takes care of her. Yes. They live together...but not that "lived together"... no they never sleep together, so Cage sleeps / fools around somewhere else. Oh. yeah. If Low can put a Facebook status, it will be "In relationship , but it's complicated!"

Meet Marcus, he is one of the interesting characters from Breathe ( Book 1 of this series ) and I'm glad to be finally reading his story. Marcus is protective to all those he cared for.  He loves his family. And it broke his heart when he learned that his family is breaking apart.  His philandering Dad... his Mom and sister was greatly affected. I love it when Marcus tried fixing things. And the way he comforts his Mom and sister is so admirable.

Low needs to be taken care and Marcus wants to protect her. So, it looks like Marcus and Low are both perfect for each other? Well,  of course there will always be "but's" and "only if's" in the world! Low clearly wants Marcus... BUT she feels like she is way out of his league?! See and feel the insecurities here? Ugh. What's with this, I want him--but 's??!! And whenever she sees Marcus with another girl ( like just talking? ), she runs away like a jealous teenager?! Ugh. I mean, I like Low... but this kind of Low? I am a little disappointed. Tsk. tsk.

Living under the same roof, these two got to know each other... so is the attraction has grown stronger.  I always love how Abbi Glines writes every swoony moments . And the kiss , always makes me a little breathless.

“I really like your dimples,” he whispered.
The heat rose up my neck so fast and flooded my face I knew I had to look like a red berry. I hated my fair skin.”...

“I’m not done here. I’m just beginning Low. But I couldn't walk away again without that kiss.”...

“Marcus Hardy was straight out of those gushy romance novels my mother used to read.”...

See? That's only a few quotes from the book! Abbi Glines' swoony lines is so addictive! ( Proven and Tested! )

And..Marcus Hardy? What's not to love? He was the sweetest!  And admit it!  We girls like our man  all protective?! ..and cooks us breakfast? ..and even calls his Mother ... Mama? What a sweetheart!  Even  Low's little niece Larissa adores him! And I ADORE him! ( Like Winnie the Pooh adores his honey! haha! ) SWEEEEEET!!!!

And just as everything goes well with these couple, circumstances went against them. I got my suspicions that this was going to happen. And when it does, oh my! It shattered both Marcus and Low! Specially on Marcus, when he thinks that he's been played around. Like all along, Low knew all of this?! Poor Low having to endure it all. It shattered me.. *sobs! I'm really rooting for these two, you know.

Of course , when Marcus finally realized his mistake... here comes lover boy running with his heart out to Low... and I expect the kiss and make up moment right away ...  but not! Oh, Abbi Glines really knows how to hold the suspense! Love love it!

“And you did leave me. But... but you came back. No one’s ever come back. They leave me and that’s it. They want to leave me. You didn't. And you came back.”

“Yes, I came back. My heart never left you.”

I love the ending. It's sweet and for me, the perfect Happily-Ever-After for both Marcus and Low. If you want a light, swoony book that will leave you smiling and giddy after reading it ..  this book is definitely for you!

My Review: Opal by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Opal (Lux, #3)
From Goodreads:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

                         My review:

I was thrilled  to buddy read Opal with a friend. The truth is, J L Armentrout has  a special spot in  my book loving heart... Plus I develop a Lux Series Addiction! And I can't wait but to be with my favorite unlikely pair Katy and Daemon! I missed  their constant verbal showdown... and not to mention their precious "alone time" which always gain a little smile, smirk and evil-naughty grin from me all the time.

So here we go..Opal started where Onyx ended. And Daemon's brother is back. Looks like a great family reunion huh? But not exactly. Dawson comes back ... different , withdrawn.. and so into ignoring Daemon. This bothered Daemon big time. Of course, he missed his brother!  And our Dee is so not talking ...and despises Katy blaming her for her boyfriend's death. So much drama! And a lot of stress! When I look at it , I could say, poor Katy being caught in this big Alien mess!

When Blake who is supposed to disappear suddenly came into to picture.. And actually, making a deal?! A deal they can't resist! A deal that would mean so much to Dawson... to rescue his beloved Beth! Daemon knows this is dangerous.. but can he stop Dawson? And he can't lose Dawson again.  Then  everything came into frenzy!  Dawson can never do it alone... Daemon being so ever protective wants to go with it, but not risking everybody he cares about...and yes! Most specially Katy "the ever so willing to go with everything as-long-as-we-are-together" Daemon!  Sigh. Because of what she believes .

"Together we are stronger.. And they know it.."

I love the way J L Armentrout makes me hold my breath in two very different reasons: First, and as always.. the intensity of Daemon and Katy's kisses.  It was excruciating!  Like , I am waiting for so much more!!! But there will always be some unwanted interruption or distraction?! Arrrgh! This is so much more like a Luxen expose to  an Onyx!!  PAINFUL!! Am I overreacting here?  lol. One of my fave scene was when  they are both lost in each other on the dance floor! Oh. Yeah. I can imagine and feel .. even their breaths!  It was HOT in bold letters!!

““When Daemon’s lips pressed more firmly against mine, I opened up, not losing the rhythm even though he was stealing my breath. My—our hearts were pounding, grabbing, clutching, his slipping over the curve of my back, and behind my lids, I saw a pinprick of white light.”

See what I'm talking about?!  And yes! I can even hear the music that's been playing while they are dancing! I'd like to think it's E.T. by Katy Perry! It's so appropriate! ( or the dancing , inappropriate?! ) Haha. I got carried away. Sorry! :p And fangirl says, I'm imagining myself at the dance floor , skin to skin close with Daemon Black with that song ! *extreme fangirling!

Secondly, the way JLA  creates the suspense. And the impending DANGER?!  Feels  sooo real to me.. like I actually feel worried / scared for them. And as I read , the more I want to peek or skip pages just to see what will happen next! The more it test my willpower. ( of course , I'm holding back the urge! Haha! ) It was always unpredictable!

“We weren't doing this because we had a death wish or that we were stupid, but because there were two lives at stake, probably more, that were worth as much as ours. Perhaps this whole endeavor was sacrificial, but if we didn't go through with it, we’d lose Beth, Chris, and Dawson. Blake was an acceptable loss.”

“You really shouldn’t trust a soul in this game. Not when everyone has something to gain or lose”

Feel the danger here? Well, I feel that way almost the entire book! It was like, I'm waiting something to pop or explode right into my face!  And can they even trust Blake or anyone sorta helping them on that matter? I feel helpless. I don't have any idea!  This is bad.

And the ending?! It was Noooooooooooooooo!!!! It can't be!!!!!!!  And I been screaming like this for a couple of minutes!  My heart is destroyed!  Shredded into pieces!!  It was so heartbreaking! I can't even further describe the feeling ... like , I'm in doom! Like , the moon  literally fell on earth?! Devastated! Wails! Sobs!

I got also mixed emotions  both hate and love?! Is it even possible?! I hate it because that happened... But I love it because it has given me  another reason to want to read the next book!  I want it! I need it ... Now!

“I love you, Katy. Always have. Always will,” he said, voice thick and hoarse with panic... " ( Daemon Black )

My Review: Breathe by Abbi Glines

Breathe (Sea Breeze, #1)
From Goodreads:

Sadie White's summer job isn't going to be on the beach life-guarding or working at rental booths like most kids her age. With her single mother's increasing pregnancy and refusal to work, Sadie has to take over her mother's job as a domestic servant for one of the wealthy summer families on a nearby island.

When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world. If Sadie hadn't spent her life raising her mother and taking care of the house she might have been normal enough to be excited about working for a rock star.

Even though Sadie isn't impressed by Jax's fame, he is drawn to her. Everything about Sadie fascinates Jax but he fights his attraction. Relationships never work in his world and as badly as he wants Sadie, he believes she deserves more. By the end of the summer, Jax discovers he can't breathe without Sadie.

                                 My Review:

I  have to say that  I craved for Abbi Glines books since last month. But since I go overboard accepting as much Author's Review Copies as I thought I could manage ..well,  you can see the picture! That's one overworked , under-slept Billie for the month of May! ( I don't regret it though?! Just learned my lesson--- the sweet ...hard way!  lol. )

This has to be the most " innocent" Abbi Glines books that I have  read! ( After Fallen Series and Twisted Perfection)  The kisses are sweet  ( and no heavy tongue actions involved! Haha! ) and no  sexy dirty talks, instead those were the sweetest ... and sappiest words I read coming from a teen Rock star, Jax Stone!

I always love Abbi Glines setting.. Alabama. Think beautiful beaches ... and always beautiful hot  characters! ( Abbi Glines' trademark! ). So here, I met the seventeener  Sadie. Sweet, innocent , almost naive about the worldly things and super responsible! Imagine, she took all the responsibility of taking care of her very pregnant ( way irresponsible !) Mom?!  How hard life must be for her. When other girls her age must be partying, meeting new friends , having fun on summers, she has to work to make ends meet. Does she have a choice? No.  I am instantly drawn to her.

Since her Mom can't work, she took her Mom's job as house help at one of the beach houses which belongs to the famous teen Rock star, Jax Stone.  But of course, Jax noticed our beautiful Sadie here. He can't even take her eyes off her. Sadie was starstruck , face to face to the most sought after , gorgeous teen heartthrob in America... but she ignored the feeling and tried not to show it. Though, she can't seem to hide her blush which amused Jax more!

As the story goes on, Sadie got to know Jax. She discovered that he is not what he seems as the tabloids and papers says. Deep in his celebrity persona, there's this boy who really is not into this fame and limelight. Jax Stone is caring, compassionate  and has a sweet soul. It was the other side of Jax, and the side she saw. Sadie can't help but to open her heart to the boy that she knows will only stay for awhile.  What they have  is nothing but a summer love. This is something new for Sadie. Everything is a first. And most of the time , I can feel that she is a little confused. She wants to stay away from Jax but her heart  just can't. Same thing with Jax, he never met someone as true and unpretentious as Sadie. With Sadie , he is just a normal guy not some famous celebrity . But can they keep it that way? When the truth is that they are worlds apart?

“I’ve never met anyone who has seen past the star and found the real me inside. But even if you hadn’t found the Jax the world doesn’t know, I would be yours. When you smiled at me that first time, I was a goner. I just got lucky with the rest of you.” ( Jax Stone )

Here comes another guy, Marcus.. a normal guy and a nice guy.. more ideal, and a safe choice for Sadie. But to her , he is just a friend. Nobody can make her heart flutter and her skin tingle like Jax does. Arrgh! this friend zone  is so frustrating sometime!  I really feel sorry for Marcus. Oh well, maybe Sadie wants a complicated lovelife?! Ugh.

“I would never love someone the way I love Jax, it was a little easier to breath. He would always be in my heart, whether he wanted to be there or not. I just didn’t have enough room for anyone else. He was my air, my soul, and the keeper of my heart.” ( Sadie  White )

Obviously , they are in love.  But then , Jax being famous and everything.. plus getting public with their relationship.. end up bad. Like bad publicity rip them up.. ending  them apart. Of course, Sadie become depressed. Who isn't? Jax was her first love!  Plus , high school life and  responsibility with her baby brother  is taking  so much of her sanity! I pity her. It must be twice as hard as her life before Jax. But as story goes on. Issues are resolved and a compromise was made.  And I think that's a mature way of facing it.

The plot of this story is quite predictable but I'm a little bias here because it's from Abbi Glines!  ( And I love her! ) Plus I can't help my self but to swoon over Jax Stone! Imagine, he wrote a song for Sadie and sang it to her at the hospital! ( Never leaving her side! ) While she was on a coma!  And it was Jax voice who strengthen her and eventually woke her up.( kind of The Sleeping beauty?! )  Yes, kind of a fairytale  only with a Bonus : she got the kiss and the song! Tell me if that's not swoony? Then what do you call it??

And it won't hurt  to say, that Jax Stone is one of the sweetest rockstar ever!  Here is  an excerpt of his song for Sadie (swoon! ) :

“Your eyes hold the key to my soul. Your hands heal all my pain, and you’re everything that makes this boy whole. When you breathe, it sends warmth through my veins. When you laugh, my body goes insane. You’re all I need to survive. Your body is what makes me feel alive.”

“Don’t cry. I’m not that strong. I can’t stand here when your heart is broken. How I long to be all you need. But instead I’m everything that’s wrong. No, no, don’t cry. I’m not that strong. I can’t stand here, when your heart is broken How I long to be all you need. But instead, I’m everything that’s wrong.”

My Review: Tangled by Emma Chase

Tangled (Tangled, #1)
From Goodreads:

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

                                                                  My Review:

I learned a new word today. Guffaw :  (noun)  meaning: hearty laugh.  Yes, I've been guffawing from page One  up to the last page of this book! It was so friggin funny!  And You can even catch me laughing in public ..alone ( while reading! ) Yes ! Maybe call me nuts?!  I totally love this book. It's like seeing the first ray of sunshine after rainy days that won't seem to end! ( After all depressing books?! ) Boy! I'm so glad!

Oh . How I love Drew Evans! And this is my first time to read from a purely male POV. Oh and it's soooo freaking good! And I love reading what goes inside his sexy ( and most of the time dirty ) mind!  Lol. Drew is your typical male..uhhhhmm.. I mean, your typical well-driven, gorgeous, incredibly sexy hot -hot kind of male.  You know ..the one who associates everything with sex? Like 24/7 ? Drew have no problem having a  girl "literally" on her knees for him at any given Saturday night. And forgets her after that! That simple!  Man whore. And Love is the word you can't find in his vocabulary. You get the picture?

“F@ck, yeah. That’s good. Yeah, like that . See that guy—black suit, devilishly handsome? Yeah, the guy getting the blow job from the luscious  redhead in the bathroom stall? That’s me. The real me. MBF. Me Before the Flu."

Well, that's the typical Drew... Before the flu!  ( And yes , I've been curious about this flu the entire time I'm reading this book! ) And When he first laid eyes on Kate. ..Viola! we have the poetic Drew!

“She’s magnificent—angelic—gorgeous. Pick a word, any f@cking word. The bottom line is, for a moment, I forget how to breathe.”

See the effect?! Well, that's only the beginning! But of course, Drew tried to hit on her and unleash his all-knowing power of seduction. And did he succeed? He is Drew-almighty-Evans?! But she is... engaged!! He did not even got the chance to get her name! This must have crushed his super inflated male ego big time!   Well then, after that he seem not to forget that girl who turn his advances down! And I think another first for him?! Well, karma is really a bitch! What happens next?

He found himself working with Kate ! Yes, on their company! Yes, his Dad hired the brilliant, MBA grad with honors Kate! Sounds like fate is on his side? But No! He does not...Never fool around anyone within his office, his second home! It's off limits! Does it have to include Kate too? When all his raging male , virile hormones are shouting all together for her?!  I even sense Drew's "pain"!  See my evil smile?! Haha. And adding to his pain.. Kate is really competitive and is really, really a good one! And Drew? Like a dog , he is territorial!

“Just like that, Kate Brooks has changed from a woman I couldn't wait to do the nasty dance with to someone I can’t wait to crush under my boot. My adversary. My competition. My enemy.”

Well, enemies? Can they stay long, that way? I have to say, the sabotages and a lot of snarks they made to each other was above par funny! And when they can no longer deny their attraction? Can you really stop an active volcano from exploding?!  They  give in! And my! It's so hot .. add up Drew's  all-knowing male remarks...I did not realized  making out can be both funny and hot at the same time! And word of caution: what they did inside that bedroom? No ..no... NOT for the kiddos!

But then, Drew ended up  screwing things between them... like being the asshole that he is! Now he has to pay the price! Being miserable ..tormented.. Unexplained feeling .. Weak.. Like catching a flu? Yes, but only this time no aspirin can cure!  He needs Kate!  He wants Kate! And for the first time in his male existence: He is Definitely So in love with Kate! But will Kate believe him? Will she accept him back?

Boy! Drew is someone who isn't giving up. And his series of attempt to get Kate back is over the top! Way ..way.. Over the top! I can't believe any normal guy would do that?! But Drew is not normal! Have I told you he is way desperate?  And desperate times .. needs desperate measures?! And it's freaking funny! My eyes were as wide as my open mouth while reading it! My reaction? What the hell?!  No freaking way ?! Along with a bout of full , unadulterated laughter!!! Nobody can "woo" a girl like our creative  Drew ! Think:   Endless flowers ? Three man mobile band?! Sky writing? A Nun?  Seriously? Yeah..way..way seriously!

I love the way Emma Chase wrote every single funny moments! It was so hilarious!! One of my fave scene is their Thanksgiving dinner.  This is also the first time I heard the word , "pussy whipped" .. What's pussy whipped ? ask by Drew's adorable four year old niece,  Mckenzie? And everything at the table explodes! The chain reactions are EPIC!  And the "Bad word" Jar?! Ingenuous?! My god! I can't even stop from laughing! Emma Chase , you are a genius!! That was GUFFAW fest ! Good thing, I did not pee on my pants!

I love the ending !  It was perfect!!!! And  guys, if you are desperate in winning your girl back... Here's a very important piece advice : watch "The Notebook" ... really absorb  it  by heart! ( scene by scene! word for word!)  It will NEVER fail you. Ever. Take it from Drew Evans!

And I got a  few songs  for Drew! :)
                                        * Happy Man by Chicago*
                                     *Sweetest Thing by U2*

                                      My Verdict:

5 swoony , fun-tastic, laugh till you drop kind of stars!
