I was over the moon excited when I was offered to read and review this wonderful book! To think that it's from no other than the wonderful , amazing author, Ms. Chelsea Fine is beyond...Beyond!( Yes! I'm her HUGE fan! )And to be part of her blog tour, such an honor!
Synopsis:
Sometimes when perfect falls apart, a little trouble fixes everything . . .
Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Turner has lost everything. After spending most of her life taking care of her ailing mother, she just wants to spot a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So when her late father-a man she barely knew-leaves her an inheritance, she finally breathes a sigh of relief . . . until she learns the inheritance comes with strings. Strings in the form of handsome playboy Daren Ackwood, her father's protégé. To see any of her inheritance, she's forced to team up with him. From his expensive car to those sexy dimples, Kayla's seen his type before. But Daren isn't who he seems to be . . .
Struggling to make amends for his family's mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. He's beyond grateful that James Turner included him in his will, but working with Turner's princess of a daughter to fulfill his cryptic last wish is making Daren wonder if being broke is really so bad. Still, she's just as beautiful as she is stubborn, and the more time he spends with Kayla, the less it feels right being without her. Soon Daren and Kayla begin to wonder if maybe the best gift Kayla's dad could have left them . . . was each other.
My Thoughts:
So, before I start to do the thing I loved most .....which is ... EXTREME FANGIRLING? ( Hah!) I will try to tone it down ( I am trying!!! ) and do a proper review without doing something related to this?
Or like this?
Can I really restrain myself? Nah! Either way, those things will surely happen along the way... so be forewarned!
I just looooooooooove the way this book was written! This is the story that I've been daydreaming all along. Pretty girl Kayla Turner meets Pretty boy Daren Ackland ...in the most compromising situation? Yes, that "situation" happens to include real handcuffs! Now...now... before you start thinking kinky? Which I can't blame you? ...because Daren...Daren , my gosh! Daren "the Woman whisperer" will make you want to handcuff yourself with after you finished reading this!
So , how did that handcuff ended up between Kayla ( the "prodigal daughter" ) and Daren ( the "spoiled rich kid) ? Kayla's Dad left a will , clearly stipulating that in order to have the inheritance , they should be handcuffed and go after it. Here's the catch: it's not as simple as that, it's a scavenger's hunt! I think it was the craziest idea for a will?!But nothing is crazy or impossible for both Kayla and Daren since they are desperately broke! Let the scavenger hunt begin!
Nothing is more exciting to see these two being stuck together. Yes, there is attraction ( oozing! ) but then there is also distrust? What could be Kayla's motive showing up all of a sudden after shutting off her Dad from her life? And how come Kayla's Dad trusted Daren to include him on his will? Take all of this , plus the preconceived notions they had? But as they go along this hunt , never have they been prepared for a beautiful surprise that will change everything they believed to be.
Oh, I just love all the little notes Old Turner wrote as Daren and Kayla goes after the trail of clues. Those were pure nuggets of wisdom specially about life itself. My heart swells with this "feel good emotion" because Old Turner definitely knows the truth about what matters most. I also love the places he tried to hid out this clues. Old Turner was a genius! And Daren and Kayla? Darn entertaining! I giggled and chuckled a lot during their little adventure! Sure it was uncomfortable with those handcuffs? But darn! those "sexy "tensions" they had with those handcuffs?!! Priceless!!love, love it!!! Oh! And don't forget the kisses!! The way Ms. Fine wrote those? It felt real!! It's like...Daren kissing me?! Ahhhhhh!!! I would love to trade places with Kayla!! ( Like, right NOW! )
Speaking of "sexy"... Well, hellllllooooo!! I did not realized until now , that it could be that HOT without even doing "the deed"?! Yes, ladies, I admit , the things this" woman whisperer / kiss bandit" also known as Daren can do? Can totally make me feel "ticklish" in all places I dare not say! *blushing hard* You can just imagine the "actual deed"?!! I'd be like, on fire!! Ms. Fine can CLEARLY and amazingly write a very.... uhhhm, stimulating "scene" ! Yeee-haw!
“You’re so
obsessed with us not being strangers,” she says, and her eyes shine. “That
can’t be healthy.”
I probably
shouldn’t kiss her. We have an inheritance to claim tomorrow. We have shit to
follow through with. Kissing her is a bad idea. A very bad idea.
“No. Probably
not.” I step closer so we’re only inches apart. “But I can’t seem to let it
go.”
She doesn’t move
away. She doesn’t break eye contact.
Yes. She’d
definitely let me kiss her. I’m sure of it.
My heart pounds
and it’s all I can do to keep my nonchalant demeanor in place.
“Is that what we
are, Kayla?” I lower my voice with a crooked grin. “Strangers?”
She meets my
crooked grin and raises me a tipped chin. Her eyes are steel and sure, not
giving anything away, and I suddenly feel unsure.
I lean in.
She doesn’t react.
But she also doesn’t back away.
Kissing her is a
bad idea.
Her lips part,
ever so slightly, a thin seam of wet flesh forming between the soft skin of her
pretty lips, and all my reservations vanish.
Overall, I ABSOLUTELY loved everything about this book! The ending is just PERFECT. For the hopeless romantics out there, you're up for a real treat! This one's for you! Go grab your copies or you might be lucky to have yours for free by joining the giveaway found below.
